Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, an American screen and stage actress best recognized for her roles in films as a character in Ray Undercover Brother and on the TV show The Mentalist. She has a Bachelor's degree in African-American Studies and an MFA from Tisch School of the Arts New York University. Aunjanue Lisa Ellis is an actor, producer and American actor who is active in theater in film, television, and theatre. Her acting career started in the theater. Later, she was a part of various television series as well as independent and mainstream film. Her most well-known role was Miranda Shaw on ABC's Quantico and was a part of BET's epic series The Book of Negroes for which she received not just high praise but also received a host of nominations and awards including a Television Critics Choice Award nomination for the Best Actress in a Movie. In 1995 she was the first actress to make her debut with The Tempest as Ariel. The actress has appeared on Broadway as a part of Come and Gone, A Winter's Tale, Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis. When it comes to film, she is best known for her roles in films such as Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express and The Help. Her work in television she has been praised for her performance as a regular character on ABC's police drama High Incident.
